We place merchant accounts for nutraceutical and supplement sellers, including businesses that have already been declined or shut down by another processor. That describes most of the nutraceutical merchants we work with.
Before your file goes to a bank, we read your site and your offer the way an underwriter will, and we tell you what we find.
Most of what sends a nutraceutical file back is not the supplement. It’s the way the product is marketed and how the customer is billed.
A perfectly legitimate product can still turn into a compliance problem if the copy promises a cure, a guaranteed weight-loss result, or a medical outcome the product can’t back up.
The other place we look closely is recurring billing. We’ve seen merchants advertise what reads like a one-time purchase, but the terms actually enroll the customer in an ongoing program with more shipments and more charges. If a customer thinks they’re buying one bottle for $49 and then sees $200 to $250 in additional charges, the complaints and chargebacks that follow are predictable.
Before we submit anything, we run what we call the offer and claims review: the product claims, the pricing, the rebill terms, and the cancellation policy. If something wouldn’t hold up, you hear it from us first.
Nutraceutical accounts are one of the high-risk merchant accounts we place; peptide sellers face a different underwriting focus, which we cover on the peptide merchant accounts page.
| What trips up a nutraceutical application | What fixes it |
|---|---|
| Cure, regrowth, or guaranteed weight-loss claims | Rewrite the copy to factual, non-medical language |
| A one-time price that's really a subscription | State the rebill terms and cancellation policy before checkout |
| No clear cancellation path | Publish a cancellation process the customer can find without hunting |
| Pricing or refund policy buried in fine print | Put the offer terms where the customer sees them before entering a card number |
| A product mix that changed after approval | Tell us before you add a new product or formulation |
SUPPLEMENT MERCHANT, ANONYMIZED
One nutraceutical merchant came to us after being declined elsewhere for excessive chargebacks. The chargebacks traced straight back to how the offer was built.
The page led with a $49 price. What the customer was actually committing to was six months of product, and that part was disclosed in much smaller print. Customers thought they were buying one month, found out they had bought a much larger order, and disputed the charges.
We changed the offer. The six-month package could still be shown as the best deal, but the customer now has to clearly approve the entire six-month purchase. There’s also an option to buy just one month for $49.
Once those changes were live on the website, the merchant was approved the same day. After approval, the VAR sheet, the document with the account details your gateway needs, is typically issued within about 24 hours. Once the merchant has it, they can start processing.
Nutraceuticals move a lot of volume fast, and we don’t like seeing all of that volume sitting in one place.
Once you have a few months of clean processing history, we’ll often take you to a second bank and get another account approved. That’s not a courtesy we extend everywhere. It’s something we push for specifically in this vertical, because a processor can decide it no longer wants an industry, and that decision can have nothing to do with how the business performed.
Having a second account in place before you need it beats scrambling for one after your first processor changes its mind.

We review your site, your offer, and your file, and tell you what an underwriter is going to see.
We place the file with a bank that understands nutraceutical and supplement processing.
You go live, and once you have clean history, we take you to a second bank.

A voided check or a bank letter. A temporary check with no business name and address can’t be used.
Processing statements, if you have processing history.
Three months of business bank statements. Startups may need three months of personal bank statements instead.
A utility bill, if one is needed to verify a home address.
Articles of Incorporation.
Proof of website domain ownership, in some cases.
Send it all in one email rather than five or six separate ones. PDFs open anywhere, and odd file formats slow things down. Label every attachment plainly, something like “October 2026 bank statement” or “voided check,” so nobody has to open ten files to figure out what each one is.
Underwriters have files ahead of yours, and some weeks they’re busier than others. What you control is being available. If underwriting calls, pick up. If they email a question, answer it that day.
There’s no single rate for a nutraceutical account. What you pay depends on the business, and rates run higher as the risk runs higher.
There’s no set-up fee on domestic accounts. Beyond that, your rate depends on your product claims, your billing structure, your processing history, and your volume. We’ll walk you through the reserve and funding terms for your specific account before you sign anything. Ready when you are? Send us your packet.
| What sets your rate | Why it moves the number |
|---|---|
| Product claims | A factual, non-medical product page underwrites differently from one making outcome claims |
| Billing structure | Clear rebill terms and an easy cancellation path price differently than a buried subscription |
| Processing history | Three months of statements with stable volume and low chargebacks strengthens a file |
| Monthly volume | Volume affects which banks will look at the file and on what terms |

We read the whole site and the whole offer before we submit, not just the product itself.
We set up a second account once you have clean history, so one processor changing its appetite for the industry doesn’t take your business offline.
Over 20 years of relationships with the banks and processors that work in high risk. No set-up fee on domestic accounts.
Not every nutraceutical business is placeable as it stands.
If the site makes cure, disease-treatment, or guaranteed-result claims, or the pricing hides a subscription the customer wasn’t told about, we’re not going to submit it. We’ll tell you what has to change first. Sending a bank a file we expect it to decline costs you more than a week spent fixing the offer.
Some files have a real underwriting problem behind them rather than a presentation problem. If a previous account was closed over something serious, we look at the reason and the history before we tell you whether there’s a path forward.
Limitless Payment Solutions was founded by Marty Carroll and has worked in high-risk payment processing for over 20 years. We place accounts across nutraceuticals, peptides, kratom, travel, credit repair, and online coaching.
We generally don’t publish client names. Most of the merchants we work with would rather not be identified as a public example, and we respect that. When a merchant volunteers, that’s different.
Usually, yes. Most of the nutraceutical merchants we work with come to us after a decline or a termination somewhere else. What matters is the reason. We look at why the account was closed, what the history looks like, and how the business operates today before we decide where the file goes.
Banks flag nutraceuticals mainly because of how the product is marketed and how the customer is billed, not because the supplements themselves are illegal or dangerous. A health or outcome claim that goes too far, or a subscription that isn’t disclosed clearly, is what turns a good account into a compliance problem.
Many of our clients get approved within a few business days once the packet is complete. One merchant was approved the same day their website changes went live. After approval, the VAR sheet your gateway needs is typically issued within about 24 hours. Timing also depends on how busy underwriting is that week, which is the one part nobody controls.
Yes, but the terms have to be clear before the customer enters a card number. We want the price, the rebill schedule, and the cancellation process stated up front, not buried in fine print.
A photo ID for each principal owner, a voided check or bank letter, three months of business bank statements (personal statements if you’re a startup), processing statements if you have history, and in some cases a utility bill and proof of domain ownership.
Yes. Claims that a product cures something, produces guaranteed weight loss, or delivers a medical result put a real account at risk, even when the product itself is completely legitimate.
We recommend it for nutraceuticals specifically. These businesses can scale volume fast, and we don’t want all of it sitting in one account. Once you have clean processing history, we’ll often get you approved with a second bank.
All major credit and debit cards, and ACH in most cases, depending on your bank and volume.
In many cases, yes, depending on where your customers are and which bank places your account.
Send us your packet and we’ll tell you what we see. If something on the site needs to change before a bank looks at it, you’ll hear that from us first.
